Message from the Conference Chairman
Dear Surveyors,
I would like to personally invite everyone to our 58th Annual FSMS Conference, August 21st through 25th at the TradeWinds Island Resort on St. Pete Beach. This is a great place to bring your family for a beach vacation. The TradeWinds Island Resort is a complete escape and as they say on their website, there are 101 things to do. Click Here For Details. This year’s Conference promises some new events.
We kick off Wednesday with two 6-hour education seminars. This year the Wednesday night “Welcome Function” will remain onsite at the resort. The Chapters Cook-Off Competition will feature a BBQ. After we feast, do not think there is time to relax, as we have some new activities planned. As the resort offers paddleboats and a winding creek, your Executive Committee will be participating in a Battleboat Race. You will not only be able to cheer on your favorite team, but you will also be able to battle with them. After this exciting one-of-a-kind race, we will return to our Cook-Off venue and will have our first ever FSMS Corn Hole Tournament.
Thursday will also offer two 6-hour educational seminars. Thursday’s events also include our Fishing and Golf Tournaments.
On Friday, we will get together and discuss business of our Society at our GBS. Our Exhibit Hall will open Friday morning. We will also offer a selection of wonderful items in our newly popular Silent Auction. In the afternoon, we will have our Exhibitor’s Reception with Las Vegas Style Games, heavy hors d’oeuvres, door prizes and other surprises. Friday night will culminate with our Annual FSM PAC dinner (our chance to help protect our profession).
On Saturday, after we learn something new (and earn some CEC’s) in more convenient bite-size seminars, we will have our Installation Banquet. Please remember to stop by the President’s Suite after the banquet for a chance to interact with old friends and make new friends.
