This seminar will acquaint attendees with the history of land ownership and case law that impacts boundary surveying in Florida. Attendees will be educated on the history of land ownership in Florida, descriptions, evidence to be considered in performing boundary surveys and a discussion of relevant case law in Florida.

Joe Boggs, PSM is a Professional Surveyor and Mapper with 44 years of surveying experience in Florida.  He is President of South Florida Surveying, Inc.  He has been involved in a wide variety of survey projects ranging from single-family lot surveys to large D.R.I. projects and has extensive experience with Chapter 195 takings, mean high water surveys, condominiums, subdivision platting, transportation surveys, and expert witness testimony.  He was appointed by Governor Lawton Chiles and served as a member on an ad hoc committee for the licensing of photogrammetrists.  He has served as FSMS Vice President, President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President.  He also served as their Goals and Objectives Committee Chairman and Legal and Legislative Committee Chairman. He is an approved instructor for continuing education by the Florida Board of Surveyors and Mappers.
