8:30 am – 3:30 pm
6 hours – MTS/L&R

This course instructs and informs the attendee regarding minimum technical standards (MTS) as set forth in Florida Administrative Code 5J-17 (formerly 61G17-6). Instructor Gail Oliver, PSM has over thirty years of experience in surveying. Currently serving as County Surveyor for St. Johns County, Ms. Oliver oversees the GIS and Survey Divisions. Surveying Florida Cemeteries Course #7294

12:45 pm – 3:30 pm
3 hours – General

Beyond traditional surveys, some cemetery survey services and GIS products can provide an additional source of income for a surveying and mapping firm. Old cemeteries traditionally set space aside for parks, streets and walkways. These spaces, once identified as vacant, can be used as new burial spaces thus stimulating the economy. A Geographic Information System allows the surveyor to integrate maps, historic records, photographs and links to web pages as part of a complete deliverable package to clients.

Instructor Patrick Phillips, GISP is a certified GIS Professional working as a GIS Analyst and Programmer for Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corp. He has been serving the surveying, mapping and GIS communities in one capacity or another for over twenty years.
