Description & Nature of Work:

  • $2,646.80 to $2,911.48 bi-weekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
  • Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Performs skilled technical and professional work assisting in the supervision and operation of all of the survey activities for the County Surveying and Mapping Program.
  • Supervision is given to clerical, technical, and professional staff.
  • May act as the County Surveyor, including signing and certifying surveys, reports, and other documents as the licensed Surveyor and Mapper and as authorized.

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics, Geomatics Engineering, Land Surveying, or a closely related field PLUS three (3) years of progressively responsible post-licensing land surveying experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess an active license as a State of Florida Professional Land Surveyor and Mapper, in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 472, and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.

Examples of Duties:

May act as the County Surveyor, including signing and certifying surveys, reports, and other documents as the licensed Surveyor and Mapper and as authorized.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
